01Letter one

Why a developer, and why now.

Seventy per cent of Americans now say they do not want an AI data centre near them. Forty states have a county that has stopped one. In the first three months of this year, $130 billion of projects were blocked or delayed. The companies have the money and the chips. What they do not have is a way to be told yes.

We have spent this year writing a standard that a county can read: ten conditions in the numbers counties have already fought for, verified by people who do not work for the developer. The standard is becoming an independent body. This company is the other half of the idea. Someone has to be first to build to the rule, put their name on the application, and let the county hold them to it. That is Teleos.

Next month: the first county conversations, and the Standard’s consultation schedule.
